Prayer for Ondoy Victims

"Heavenly Father, we humbly pray to you as a nation. We beg You, look upon us with mercy.

For our brothers who lost their lives, receive them in Your bosom.

For the families they left behind, console them.

For those who are still missing and those trying to get home to their families, make their way easy.

For those looking and waiting for missing family and relatives, steady their faith.

For those still waiting for help, give them strength.

For those who have lost their homes and property, give them hope.

For those involved in relief and rescue operations, make them competent and selfless.

Everything we do for our unfortunate brethren, we offer to You and Your glory. All this we pray in the most holy Name of Jesus. Amen."

Please forward this prayer and let us all pray together as a nation in this time of need.

Prayer

"God... grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference. Amen."

- Reinhold Niebuhr

CDC, please include in your prayers those who were affected by Ondoy.

27 September 2009 Gospel Reading

Mark 9: 38 - 43, 45, 47 - 48
38 John said to him, "Teacher, we saw a man casting out demons in your name, and we forbade him, because he was not following us."
39 But Jesus said, "Do not forbid him; for no one who does a mighty work in my name will be able soon after to speak evil of me.
40 For he that is not against us is for us.
41 For truly, I say to you, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you bear the name of Christ, will by no means lose his reward.
42 "Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung round his neck and he were thrown into the sea.
43 And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire.
45 And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life lame than with two feet to be thrown into hell.
47 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out; it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell,
48 where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.

Hey CDC, we'll see you tom. Practice cancelled due to heavy rains. See ya.

20 September 2009 Gospel Reading

Mark 9:30-37

9:30 They went on from there and passed through Galilee. He did not want anyone to know it;

9:31 for he was teaching his disciples, saying to them, "The Son of Man is to be betrayed into human hands, and they will kill him, and three days after being killed, he will rise again."

9:32 But they did not understand what he was saying and were afraid to ask him.

9:33 Then they came to Capernaum; and when he was in the house he asked them, "What were you arguing about on the way?"

9:34 But they were silent, for on the way they had argued with one another who was the greatest.

9:35 He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, "Whoever wants to be first must be last of all and servant of all."

9:36 Then he took a little child and put it among them; and taking it in his arms, he said to them,

9:37 "Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes not me but the one who sent me."

Here you go, CDC.. gospel for next week. =) See you saturday!
